Who I amMy name is Brandon Simpson. I grew up in Knox County despite being born in Ohio and living there until I was five-years-old. My roots are definitely here, as my family is all from here. I have a wonderful family, including a daughter in college who is an RN and an EKU graduate as well as two boys in 10th and 5th grades. I'm very proud of all of them. My interests are sports, reading, writing, video games, and life in general - because there is a whole lot that God gave us to enjoy.

Work HistoryI have taught English / Language Arts for 20 years now, beginning at Gallatin County Middle School in Warsaw, KY for my first six years, and continuing at Barbourville High School after that until the present time. I have a B.A. in English with a philosophy minor from Union College in Barbourville; I also have a Master's in Education with a Reading/Writing Specialist focus from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. In addition to teaching, I have coached 19 years, mostly basketball and softball with a bit of baseball, as well. Having taught at two small schools, I have fulfilled just about any job that can be done by a teacher.
